About this event

Wusatoumuduk: We Make It Burn is a new multimedia stage play about Cultural Fire, produced by Sugarbush Hill Moving Lhatsik, a Dreammaker project of the Ink People, led by co-artistic directors Michelle Hernandez (Wiyot) and Zuzka Sabata. The play emphasizes the urgent need to embrace time-honored land stewardship practices that have supported ecological balance for millennia, featuring local Native cast members, nationally acclaimed Native director Tara Moses (Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, Mvskoke), and traditional Wiyot stories told through shadow puppetry. This Oct. 25 performance is at Rohner Park in Fortuna at 7:30 p.m. All shows are free and all ages. Bring camping chairs, blankets, headlamps or flashlights, and dress warmly; audiences are asked to RSVP which performance they plan to attend.
